Broiler cage breeding technology is a breeding scheme that has been gradually formed and developed in recent years. It can not only save manpower, but also improve work efficiency, and can also achieve refined management of the broiler breeding process. The use of cages is a direction for the development of the broiler industry, which can improve the level of broiler breeding.
1 Feeding management technology
1.1 Scientific grouping
Most of the three-dimensional cages for broilers adopt the method of whole body dimensioning. In the process of use, if the density of dimension chickens is high, it is necessary to use reasonable partitions to ensure uniform feed intake and weight growth and development of chickens. The first grouping must be carried out at the age of 12-16 days; after the first grouping, the second grouping should be carried out at the age of 25-28 days. The main purpose of grouping is to divide the strong chickens into the bottom layer, and keep the weaker chickens in the middle and upper layers. Grouping needs to consider weather and seasonal factors. When the temperature is high, it is necessary to group in advance to dissipate heat; when the weather is cold, grouping should be delayed to promote its warmth. The temperature in the lower layer is lower, and one more chicken can be placed in the lower cage, which can promote the warmth of the chickens and reduce the temperature difference between the layers."
1.2 Preheating
Pre-warming is for three-dimensional cages. Due to the temperature difference between the upper, middle and lower layers of chicken cages, and this temperature difference will change with the change of the outdoor temperature, the difference will increase or decrease depending on the outdoor temperature. The lower it is, the greater the difference will be. It is usually placed on the highest level, which can save heat energy. The temperature of the chicken house needs to be preheated according to the climate and seasonal conditions, usually within 2~4 days before entering the chicken. The chicks should be sprinkled within 4 hours after entering the factory area, especially under high temperature conditions, the feed cannot be sprinkled in advance, otherwise it will affect the effect of eating. The drinking water for the chickens should also be pre-warmed in advance, which can reduce the stress of the chicks, and wait until the temperature of the chicken house rises to 28°C.
1.3 drink water
Chickens must drink water at a suitable temperature within 2 hours after entering the chicken house, and some weak chicks can be artificially supplied with drinking water. The automatic nipple drinker in the chicken cage needs to be adjusted to an appropriate height. When the nipple drinker is too low, the chicks will dirty the water in the receiving cup, and the nipple drinker is too high and affects the drinking of the chicks. The water pressure should be appropriate, not too large or too small. When the chicks drink water for the first time, 5% glucose and 0.1% vitamin C should be added to the water. During the feeding process, the water cannot be cut off. From the second day when the chicks enter the chicken house, drugs should be added to the drinking water to prevent white pulling.
1.4 Feeding
After the chickens enter the chicken house, in addition to drinking water, they must also do a good job in feeding. Feeding is usually carried out within 2-3 hours after drinking water. Usually 25 chicks use one small feeding trough, put feed into the feeding trough for the chicks to eat at will, it must be fed less frequently, and care should be taken to prevent feeding moldy feed when feeding.”
1.5 Prevention and control of diseases
Cage chickens should pay attention to disease prevention and control, especially rational use of drugs. Usually less toxic drugs are used in brooding, such as norfloxacin, gentamicin and ampicillin, which can prevent chickens from appearing yellow and white. Colibacillosis was prevented with ceftriaxone and levofloxacin and amikacin. It is also necessary to do a good job of vaccination. After vaccination, tylosin can be used to prevent respiratory infections.
1.6 Disinfection
Broiler cages are usually carried out with chicken disinfection. Disinfection should use less irritating, non-special odor disinfectant, and different components should be used alternately. Usually, the frequency of disinfection is different in different seasons. In winter, it is disinfected once a week, while in seasons such as spring and autumn, it is disinfected twice a week. In hot summer, it can be disinfected once a day. When disinfecting, pay attention to the temperature of the chicken coop. Usually, the disinfection effect of the chicken coop is best at 25°C.
2 Environmental Control Technology
2.1 Temperature control
After the chicks enter the house, the brooding temperature usually reaches 32-34°C. Every day in the first week was lowered by 0.4°C. After 1 week, the ambient temperature in the chicken house reached 30-31°C. On this basis, the temperature is lowered by 2°C every week. Since the density of the cage is higher than that of the flat, the temperature should be appropriately lowered by 1-2°C than that of the flat.
2.2 Humidity Control
The chicken coop not only needs to have a suitable temperature, but also needs to have a suitable humidity. When building a chicken house, install a cooling pad, which can not only prevent dehydration of the chickens, but also make the temperature uniform. Humidity usually needs to be above 50%. If the humidity is too low, it will cause respiratory diseases, and if it is too high, it will affect the ability of the cardiovascular system to transmit blood and oxygen. Usually, the relative humidity in the chick house within 1 week of age should be controlled at about 65%.
2.3 Lighting Control
Cage chickens use artificial light, and brooding chickens need sufficient light, usually 24h light. The intensity of the light should reach 60x. From the third week, the light time can be reduced to 22h, 30 1x. Along with the growth of flock of chickens, when its body weight reaches 4 times of body weight at birth, care should be limited to avoid sudden death or broiler ascites syndrome caused by excessive growth, and light intensity usually reaches 10 Ix after 4 weeks. Then it is necessary to gradually increase the light time, and increase to 24h light one week before slaughter.
2.4 Ventilation Control
The chicken house not only needs to have suitable temperature, humidity and light, but also needs good ventilation. Ventilation equipment can be installed in the chicken house, and Ventilation should be relatively variable in different seasons.
In the early days of winter, transverse ventilation is usually used. When the broiler grows to about 24 days, it gradually changes from transverse ventilation to longitudinal ventilation or mixed ventilation. In summer, due to the dead angle of transverse ventilation, the transition to longitudinal ventilation will be made from the second week. Use anemometers, negative pressure meters, etc. to observe the specific conditions of the flock. Control the temperature, humidity and air quality in the chicken house to promote the healthy growth of chickens.
