1. General requirements for installing nipple drinkers
The installation of the nipple drinker should be standardized and reasonable to ensure that the water pipe is straight and the water supply to each section of the water pipe is uniform. A water quality filter should be installed at the water inlet end of the water pipe to prevent foreign matter from entering the drinking water system to block the drinking fountain and pollute the water quality.
The drinking nipple should be installed vertically downward to avoid water leakage and meet the drinking habits of chickens with their heads up.
According to the number of layers of chicken cages in the chicken house, a pressure-controlled water tank should be installed at the water inlet end of each layer of chicken cages to ensure uniform water pressure in each section of the water pipe. The end of the water pipe should be installed with a plug that can flexibly open the water pipe, so that the water pipe can be opened at any time to release foreign objects or deteriorated water in the water pipe.
When installing the drinking nipple, the drilling hole of the drinking water pipe must be round and smooth, so that the drinking nipple and the drinking pipe are in close contact to ensure no water leakage.

The drinking nipple should be installed in the middle of the chicken cage eye, not close to one side, otherwise the drinking water pipe will be deformed due to temperature changes (heat expansion and contraction), and the chicken cage wire will push the drinking nipple, causing the drinking nipple and the drinking pipe Can not be in close contact with water leakage.
2 Specific requirements for installing nipple drinkers
2.1 Installation of nipple drinkers for chicks
During the brooding period, the nipple drinker should be installed in an obvious place where the chicks are easy to find, so that the chicks can find the drinking nipple in time and drink water. According to the bird's habit of drinking water with its head raised, the drinking nipple should be installed above the body of the bird.
Chicks grow fast during the brooding period, and an adjustable space should be left when installing the drinking nipple. The height of the drinking nipple can be adjusted at any time according to the growth of the chicken, so as to ensure the normal drinking water of the chicken and meet the drinking habits of the chicken. Prevent the nipple from being too low, and the chickens are easy to touch the nipple and leak water. If the nipple is too high, the chicks cannot reach the drinking nipple and cannot drink water, which will affect the normal growth and health of the chicks.
According to the number of chickens, determine the number of drinking nipples installed. There are many chickens in each cage in the chick stage, and as many drinking nipples as possible should be installed in each cage, which is conducive to the first drinking training of the chicks, meets the drinking water needs of the chicks, and prevents the chickens from being crowded and crushed.

2.2 Installation of nipple drinkers for young chickens
Young chickens grow fast, so more attention should be paid to the installation height of the drinking nipple, leaving a large adjustable space so that the height of the drinking nipple can be adjusted at any time according to the growth of the chicken. Young chicken drinking nipples are generally installed above the trough in front of the chicken cage, and the installation direction of the drinking nipple should be slightly inclined 10 degrees to the inside of the chicken cage. This can not only meet the convenience of drinking water for the chickens, but also prevent the drinking water from falling into the trough and causing the feed to ferment and deteriorate.
2.3 Installation of nipple drinking fountains for laying hens
The nipple drinker for laying hens should be installed on the top of the cage near the front. This can satisfy the chicken's head-up drinking habit. The height of the laying hens meets a certain requirement, and the chickens are prone to water leakage when they touch the drinking nipples during activities, causing the chickens to be wet for a long time, which is not conducive to the chickens' self-cleaning. Therefore, the drinking nipples of laying hens should be installed between two adjacent cages, so that the chickens are not easy to touch when moving, thereby reducing the chance of water leakage. At the same time, the chickens in each chicken cage have 2 drinking nipples to drink water, which improves the safety of the chickens drinking water. The drinking nipples should not be too close to the food trough. When the chickens drink water, the water will easily fall into the food trough, causing the feed to ferment and deteriorate when it encounters water, which will affect the health of the chickens.
